From a development board to a working prototype.

We engineer the whole device: architecture, board, firmware and enclosure, built into first units and debugged until they work.

Who this is for

Teams with an idea, a sketch or a development-board prototype who need the whole device engineered and built, not one part of it. Often software, AI and robotics teams moving into hardware, or product teams with a prototype but no full engineering team.

Typical starting points

  • An idea or sketch, after a project evaluation
  • A development-board or breadboard prototype that works on the bench
  • A partial design: a schematic, some firmware, or a 3D-printed body

What Anvol does

  • System architecture
  • Schematic, PCB layout and power
  • Sensors, MCU and communication
  • Firmware
  • Enclosure and structural integration
  • Prototype build, with parts sourced by us
  • Debugging and validation: power-on, function and communication tests

Deliverables

  • Schematic, PCB files and Gerbers
  • BOM with a source for each part
  • Firmware source
  • Enclosure CAD
  • Working prototypes
  • Test checklist and test report

Typical inputs

  • What the device should do and what works today
  • Photos or video of the current prototype
  • Any files you have: schematic, PCB, code, CAD, BOM
  • Target quantity and date

Timeline and cost drivers

Timeline
Set in the written scope, with milestones. You confirm the prototype, or the changes it needs, before the next step. Past builds took from 3 days (logic analyzer) to 2 months (eight-thruster ROV) of development.
Cost depends on
Board complexity, number of revisions, number of features and connectivity, the enclosure process, and how much of your existing design and code can be reused.
Past fees
Development fees on our priced builds ran from $800 to $10,000. How costs break down →

What is excluded

  • Certification testing (FCC/CE). It is done by a test lab and quoted separately when a product needs it.
  • Shipping and import duties. Usually arranged by you once units leave the factory.
  • Anything outside the written scope. Major scope changes are re-quoted, with a new timeline, before work continues.

Questions

No. A sketch, a development-board prototype, partial files or a physical sample is a normal starting point. We list what is missing and propose the next practical build step.

Yes. We review it first, and reuse lowers the cost. The logic analyzer, for example, reused open-source firmware.

You do. You own the project-specific design files, drawings and tooling. Anvol's general tools and libraries stay ours, and third-party and open-source parts keep their licenses. IP and handover →

No. We can start with a single prototype, revise it with you, and continue into small-batch production after approval.
