Your external hardware team, from first sketch to repeatable batch.

Anvol turns an incomplete idea, dev board or early prototype into tested hardware, then runs the small batch. One project lead coordinates engineering, manufacturing, assembly and testing for you. Development runs about $500 to $3,000 for a simple device and $3,000 to $10,000 for a small robot or multi-board device (our engineers' reference ranges).

US company to contract with, Shenzhen engineering and supply chain · NDA before you share confidential files · Written scope, acceptance checks and milestone payments · Start with one prototype, no minimum order; development is priced by the work, not the quantity

Why Anvol? Hardware development built for small teams.

An engineer soldering parts onto a FreakStudio circuit board at our bench

Real engineers. Verifiable work.

Anvol is a U.S.-registered company supported by engineering and supply-chain operations in Shenzhen, China. Our team’s work includes 200+ documented open-source hardware projects under FreakStudio, alongside real-world electronics, firmware, mechanical design and prototyping experience. You can review our public engineering work, speak directly with our technical team, and arrange an NDA before sharing confidential files. We define project scope, deliverables and costs before development begins.

  4. Small-batch manufacturing

Your external hardware engineering team.

A traditional manufacturer often expects production-ready files, while hiring a full engineering team can be expensive for a small startup. Anvol helps bridge that gap. We combine U.S.-based business coordination with China-based hardware engineering, firmware development, mechanical design and Shenzhen manufacturing resources. Whether you have a product idea, a development board, an unfinished PCB or a working prototype, we can help turn it into a tested device—and support the next step toward small-batch production. You work with one coordinated team instead of managing multiple suppliers yourself.

  • Focused engineering taskPCB changes, firmware development, module integration.
  • Prototype developmentCustom electronics, software, enclosure and a working prototype.
  • Small-batch manufacturingPCB/PCBA, sourcing, assembly, testing and delivery.

Start small. Build what you need.

You don’t need a complete specification, a large order or a production-ready design to get started. We work with independent developers, founders and small product teams on practical, clearly scoped hardware projects. Many early-stage tasks can be planned around engineering budgets from a few hundred dollars to about US$10,000, depending on complexity and existing work. Start with one prototype, a specific engineering problem or a small development milestone. We’ll help identify a realistic next step, with engineering, components and manufacturing costs quoted separately. You can scale up when your product is ready.

  • A US engineering firmFits when you want the team in your time zone and have the budget: first electronic prototypes usually start around $5,000, four to twelve weeks a round.
  • A factory in China, directlyFits when the design is finished: production-ready files, a tested unit and a quantity. A factory builds what you send; it does not finish the design.
  • AnvolFits when you have an idea, a dev board or an unfinished prototype. One project lead takes it from design through tested units and the small batch, under a US contract. Full comparison with sources →

Tell us what you’re building →An idea, a sketch or an unfinished prototype is enough to start a conversation.

Hardware sponsors of our dev kit

DFRobotFreenoveWaveshareLILYGOM5StackEbyte

They sponsor hardware for our dev kit. They are sponsors, not clients.

What we can own.

You buy a result, not six suppliers. One Anvol project lead turns what you have into tasks with acceptance checks, runs the engineering and the factories, and answers for the unit that reaches you. Pick one stage or hand us the whole build.

Project evaluation & engineering plan

Feasibility, risk list, technical route, budget range and a staged plan.

Managed prototype development

Electronics, firmware, enclosure, sourcing and integration, delivered as a tested prototype.

Flexible low-volume manufacturing

1 to 100+ units while the design may still change: printing, machining, finishing and assembly picked per stage.

Box build, testing & provisioning

Your boards, enclosures and cables made into finished units: firmware, serial numbers, function test, packing.

Pilot & repeat manufacturing

Once the design is stable: controlled BOM, assembly steps, fixtures and first-article checks, so the next batch repeats.

Questions before the first call.

That is a normal starting point. Send the sketch, development-board prototype, partial files, or physical sample you have. We identify what is missing and propose the next practical build step.

Yes. Component sourcing is part of what we do, including older and hard-to-find chips. We provide a full bill of materials with the quote.

No. We can start with a single prototype, revise it with you, and continue into small-batch production after approval. No minimum order is about quantity, not price: the development fee pays for the engineering whether you build one unit or fifty, and pilot and repeat batches are quoted separately.

You do. We sign an NDA before we open any file. The project-specific design files, drawings and tooling belong to you; our general tools and libraries stay ours. IP and handover →

You sign with Anvol, Inc., our US entity, not with a factory, and pay in USD in milestones. Production runs on partner lines; you see what each line does, not its name. Who you contract with and how to pay →
