Where parts come from, and how units are checked.
How we source parts, test what we build and handle changes, and which part of the work is ours, our partner lines' or yours.
Sourcing
- Where
- Parts are bought in Shenzhen, including older and hard-to-find chips.
- With your quote
- A full bill of materials, with a source for each part, costed from real parts and supplier quotes and checked by an engineer.
- Alternatives
- BOM cleanup includes approved alternative parts.
- Partner lines
- Production runs on partner lines in Shenzhen. You see each line's type and region, not its name.
- Contract
- Your contract is with Anvol, Inc., not with a factory.
Testing
- Prototypes
- Power-on, function and communication tests, and structural checks.
- Before a batch
- First-article inspection and design-for-manufacturing fixes.
- Before a run
- We agree with you on fixtures, how each unit is tested and recorded, and how units are packed.
- Every unit
- Tested before it is packed, against the targets from the sample rounds.
- Issues
- Logged, and the log stays open until every item is closed.
- You receive
- Test checklist, test report and test videos; a batch record with each batch.
Who is responsible for what
- Anvol
- Engineering, sourcing, testing and managing production, within the written scope. One Anvol engineering lead is your contact throughout.
- Partner lines
- Fabrication and assembly runs, ordered and managed by Anvol.
- You
- Confirm the written scope and price, approve the prototype and the design before any larger run, and accept each batch.
- Test labs
- Certification testing such as FCC or CE. Outside our standard scope; quoted separately when a product needs it.
- Shipping and customs
- Usually arranged by you once units leave the factory. Import duties are yours.
Change control
- At the start
- A written scope lists deliverables, acceptance criteria and price.
- Part substitutions
- Need your approval before the part is used.
- Scope changes
- Major changes are re-quoted, with a new timeline, before work continues.
IP and handover
- Ownership, NDA, files
- Who owns the design and what you receive →
