Your design stays yours, and so do the files.
What the NDA covers, who owns what at the end of a project, and the files, code and documents you take with you.
NDA
- Before any file
- We sign an NDA before we open anything you send.
- Both ways
- It is mutual: it covers what you send us and what we send you.
- Partner lines
- We share your files with a partner line only to quote or build, and only under a written confidentiality obligation at least as protective as your NDA.
Who owns what
- Your design
- You own the project-specific design files, drawings and tooling.
- Our tools
- Anvol's general tools and libraries stay ours.
- Third-party parts
- Third-party and open-source components keep their original licenses.
What you receive
- Electronics
- Schematic, PCB files, Gerbers, BOM with sources.
- Firmware
- Firmware source, factory test program, protocol and API notes.
- Mechanical
- Enclosure CAD files.
- Testing
- Test checklist, test report, test videos.
- Production
- Production files, and a batch record for each batch.
- When
- Design files come with the working prototypes; production files come with the tested units.
- Which of these
- The ones for the services in your written scope, which lists every deliverable before work starts.
