Can I ship my device with a lithium battery? USPS, UPS or FedEx

Anvol, Inc., which builds battery-powered devices for small hardware teams, made this free checker from each carrier's own rules: a new device with a lithium-ion battery of up to 100 Wh (20 Wh per cell) installed can go by air or ground with USPS, UPS or FedEx. On USPS, since July 12, 2026 it must be declared as hazmat, which costs $7.50 per package on Priority Mail and $0 on Ground Advantage, and an undeclared or mislabeled package is charged $50. Loose batteries with no device go by ground only unless you ship them as fully regulated hazmat. Enter your battery below for your exact answer.
